Nigerian police rescued a Canadian woman kidnapped two weeks ago in the West African country, AP reported. Police say the woman was rescued in the northern city of Kaduna on Wednesday. Two people have been arrested in connection with her abduction. National police spokesman Emmanuel Ojukwu said Thursday no ransom was paid for her release. Ojukwu says the woman is in good health and has been handed over to the Canadian High Commission in Nigeria. The woman was taken hostage April 16 in Kaduna where she had been attending an international conference.
