A whirlwind hitting Tebo District, around 280 km of Jambi city, damaged at least 76 houses at Sungai Rambai village, Tebo Ulu sub district, ANTARA reported. "The whirlwind blew off a number of roofs and some of the houses almost collapsed," Saleh Sibly, head of the Jambi Provincial social affairs and transmigration office, said here on Tuesday. No one was injured in the disaster but people whose houses were damaged, were forced to evacuate to nearby mosques or their neighbors' houses, he said. The provincial social affairs and transmigration office had a plenty of food and clothes which could be distributed to the strong wind's victims if requested by the Tebo district administration, he said.
