U.S., Netherlands Seek NATO Power to Arrest Pirates

The United States and the Netherlands said they will seek authority for NATO to arrest pirates operating off Somalia's coast.
U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen met in Washington on Monday and said they will raise the issue soon with NATO.
Clinton and Verhagen said that naval operations off Somalia need to be better coordinated. Several countries have patrolled the Somali coast in addition to NATO and European Union forces.
