The Board of Trustees of Encyclopedia of Excellence and Civilization has awarded its Shield for 2008 in sport and social fields to Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, General President of Youth Welfare, President of Federation of Arab National Olympic Committees and President of Federation of Islamic Solidarity Games; and has selected the General Presidency for Youth Welfare in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the best professional performance in implementation of youth, sport and social programs and activities. In a press statement today, Advisor to Encyclopedia's Executive Supreme Committee Osama bin Hassan Al-Touri pointed out that granting the award to Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, was based on the outcome of the results of voting carried out by the Riyadh-Dubai-based Encyclopedia in more than 71 countries, noting that the Prince has won the title of the first sports personality in Arab and Islamic world in sport and social fields in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the service of sports in Arab and Islamic world. He added that as for the selection of the General Presidency for Youth Welfare in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the best professional performance, it was based on a series of its great achievements over the past few years in youth, sport and social fields in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Touri noted that a ceremony will be held in Riyadh to hand over the Award to Prince Sultan bin Fahd during the upcoming period.
