Patrols of The Saudi Border Guards thwarted a number of attempts of illegal traffic in contraband and illegal immigration endeavors during the period from 01/01/1430 AH until 30/03/1430 AH. The Border Guards statistics show that as many as 832, 932 illegal immigration attempts were foiled in addition to confiscation of 1, 146 Hashish pill, 62, 788 narcotic pill, 634, 794 Kilograms of Qat, 379 bottles of spirit, 21 cans of alcoholic-beer, 5 bombs, 8 dynamite sticks, 30 Kilograms of explosives, 33 arms' pieces, 28, 274 of ammunitions, 10,147 of cattle, 1, 620, 317 of smuggled foodstuffs and other contraband goods, said the officials spokesman for The Saudi Borders Guards, Lieutenant Colonel Salim Salih Al Sulami. He told Saudi Press Agency that the patrols of The Borders Guards in all areas were engaged during the same period in a number of incidents and nabbed irregularities including 185 cases of illegal immigration transfer; 4 cases of arrested drug traffickers as well as engaged in 19 cases of land rescue,12 cases of maritime trespassing and 8 cases of maritime pollution, 9 cases of drowning, 60 sea rescue missions. These also covered 27 shooting cases, 22 fire incidents,3 cases of attacks on individuals, 16 incidents of theft and 11 cases unlicensed possession of guns, he concluded.
