Dr. Abdul Wahid Khalid AlHumaid, the Deputy Labor Minister, will lead the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the 36th session of Arab Labor Conference to be held from April 9 to 16 in Amman, Jordan. The conference will discuss a report on "Movement of Arab labor, Opportunities and Hopes" as well as the second part of the report on "Economic Crisis and its Impact on the Arab Labor Market." The agenda of the Conference's four technical committees will focus on development and operation; the application of conventions and recommendations that consider the actions and measures undertaken by Arab countries in the implementation of the Arab conventions' provisions; the media and its role in promoting the culture of work; the Arab investments and their role in the advancement of the labor market and discussion of the decisions of the economic summit and the Doha Declaration of the Arab Forum on Development and Employment. It also will examine the Arab standard classification of occupations Project 2008, which includes approximately 1,200 new professions in preparation for adoption and approval from the conference. The Project is a key tool for the exchange of information and the movement of individuals from an Arab country to another through the use of the definite unitary coded job description that helps to determine the skill levels and wages. The classification project has been prepared by Arab experts in conformity with relevant international classification while maintaining the Arabian Privacy (way of life).
