A tornado ripped through more than 60 villages along India's eastern coast, killing 10 and injuring around 100 people, officials said Wednesday. The storm Tuesday damaged a large number of homes and snapped power supply in just 15 minutes before it subsided, said G.V. Venugopala Sarma, disaster management commissioner of the Orissa state. It happened in Orissa's coastal Kendrapada district, CNN reported. Sarma said more than 96 people were injured by the tornado. Among them, 40 were hospitalized. Rescuers have reached all affected villages and power officials are trying to restore supply, he added.
