Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), chaired here on Sunday the Board's 19th meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Sultan bin Salman said the Commission is keen on serving tourists, adding that it has been working in coordination with the Interior Ministry and other concerned governmental authorities to make tourism a productive sector and consider it not as a social or a security burden. He praised the great attention given by the Saudi Leadership to the development of antiquities and museums in the country. The Board also approved formation of its executive committee and approved the Ninth annual report of SCTA for the fiscal year 1428-1429 AH (2008). The Board endorsed the organization of an exhibition for civilizational contacts between the Arabian Peninsula and China at the national museum for further cementing relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and China. It also approved organization of a joint show at London's British Museum in cooperation with the British Museum on the development of the Arabic Calligraphy. The decisions of the Board included organization of a show for national antiquities restored from abroad. The meeting was attended by a number of princes and senior officials.
