The Scientific Forum for studying the phenomenon of terrorism in the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council ended today it deliberations. The Forum was organized here by the GCC General Secretariat in cooperation with Naif Arab University for Security Sciences. Dr Abdulaziz Al-Gamed, the President of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, said the organization of the Forum was in line with the directives of the GCC Interior Ministers at the meeting held in Manama in 2005. He noted that the participants of the Forum had tackled the roots of terrorism, the causes of terrorism and the suitable recommendations for confronting terrorism. The research papers delivered at the Forum covered political and media roots for terrorism, social roots for terrorism, religious roots for terrorism, social and economic causes for terrorism, preventive measures against terrorism and other related topics. The GCC is made up of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
