The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Angola in line with an agreement signed at the venue of the Kingdom's mission at the United Nations. The Kingdom's permanent representative at the UN ambassador Khalid al-Nafeesi and his Angolan counterpart Ismail Jasbar Martens signed the documents of establishing the diplomatic relations between the two countries on Tuesday. It is worth mentioning that Angola which was earlier a Portuguese colony obtained its independence in 1975. It is the third largest oil producing country in Africa after Nigeria and Libya. Angola joined OPEC in 2007.
