In line with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Interior and General Supervisor of the King's Relief Campaign for the Palestinian People Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has directed that a number of humanitarian projects be carried out in the Gaza Strip. The projects, launched in cooperation with UN humanitarian organization, are worth SR 76 Millions. Dr. Sa'id Al Urabi Al Harthi advisor to the Interior Minister and Head of the relief campaign signed today in Beirut four agreements of cooperation. The agreements, signed in cooperation with the UN, include UN Habitat program, UN Developmental Program, World Food Program and United Nation Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). The signed agreements state the provision of a wide range of services and aid material including the construction of more than 100 housing units, providing of critical medical supplies and training fees for women trainees in the Strip among other services. Then a speech was delivered by Dr. Al Harthi in which he stressed the Kingdom's commitment to the Palestinian Cause as well as providing all necessary services to meet the urgent and basic needs of the Palestinian people. Then a speech was given by UN Special Envoy for Humanitarian Affair Ambassador Abdulaziz Al Rakban in which he emphasized the effective role played by the Kingdom and humanitarian services it provides in times of calamities and natural disasters.
