Two U.S. destroyers are staying behind in Korea's East Sea after wrapping up joint military exercises there last week, UPI cited military sources as saying. The ships will stay in South Korean waters apparently in preparation for an expected North Korean long-range missile launch, Yonhap, the South Korean news agency, reported Sunday. "I understand two Aegis destroyers, including USS John McCain, will continue to stay in the East Sea in apparent preparation for the North's missile launch," an unnamed South Korean official told the news service. Pyongyang has indicated it will launch what it says is a communications satellite between April 4 and 8, but some observers believe the launch is actually a test of North Korea's intercontinental ballistic missile. The United States has threatened to intercept any missiles fired from the North, Yonhap said.
