A suicide bomber in a car blew himself up at a police checkpoint in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, killing four people, officials said . In southern Afghanistan, a NATO soldier was killed in a hostile incident, the military alliance said Saturday. The bomber attacked a police checkpoint where officers were searching cars in Chaparhar district of eastern Nangarhar province, said a police spokesman, Gafor Khan. The blast killed three civilians and one policeman, said the provincial governor, Gul Agha Sherzai. One civilian and one policeman were wounded in the attack, he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press.
