U.S. stock indexes rose Today with a push from financial firms boosted by Bank of America saying it would not need more government funds, according to UPI. Bank of America shares gained 9.94 percent, Citigroup Inc. 3.25 percent and JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo & Co. were up 6.47 percent and 4.63 percent, respectively. In early afternoon trading, the Dow Jones industrial average was ahead 130.38 points, or 1.88 percent, to 7,060.78. The Standard & Poor's 500 rose 2.08 percent, 15.03 points, to 736.39. The Nasdaq composite index gained 1.84 percent, 25.26 points, to 1,396.90. The benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury bond rose 21/32 to yield 2.852 percent. The euro fell to $1.2819, compared to Wednesday's $1.2848. Against the Japanese yen, the dollar rose to 97.82 yen, compared to Wednesday's 97.19 yen.
