The Ministry of Culture and Information held a lunch party today in honor of its guests who attended the 24th National Festival for Heritage and Culture as well as those attended the Riyadh International Book Fair. Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz Mohieddin Khoja received the guests, welcoming them in their second country; the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Asked about a study on the privatization of the Saudi TV channels, the minister said the ongoing study might take some time. We are going to work in the direction of a semi-independent authority for the TV and Broadcasting station and if we could bring into being this dream, the final goal of privatization would be achieved gradually, he said. The Minister welcomed the idea of setting up a fund for supporting culture and intellectuals, vowing that he would discuss it with the concerned officials. The event was attended by a number of officials.
