The 23rd Meeting of Heads of Olympic Committees of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) concluded here today. The Saudi delegation to meeting was led by Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the Vice General President of Youth Welfare and Vice-Chairman of Saudi Olympic Committee. In a press statement following the meeting, Prince Nawaf said that the meeting issued several decisions and recommendations on issues pertaining to sports, particularly the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to expedite the performance and remove obstacles against the GCC joint action in fields of sports and youth. Prince Nawaf thanked GCC leaders for their support for the GCC joint action. "The meeting nominated Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the General President of Youth Welfare, Chairman of Saudi Olympic Committee and President of Arab Olympic Committees Union, to occupy the post of President of the Union", he said. "The meeting also took several decisions relating to sport in GCC States", Prince Nawaf added.
