Saudi Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, who led his country's delegation to the 83rd ordinary session of the Economic and Social Council which started in Cairo earlier today, said that the discussions focused on the application of the Grand Arab Free Trade Zone and the obstacles facing it. He added that the meeting also held discussions resulting from a follow-up of the Arab Economic Summit recently held in Kuwait. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) here today, the Saudi Minister said that the Arab Economic and Social Council approved the formation of a ministerial committee in addition to the Secretary-General of the Arab League to meet every three months to follow-up the decisions and preparations for the upcoming economic summit to be held in Egypt next year. Al-Assaf also pointed out to the approval of the Arab investment system, stressing that such decision would push forward the inter-Arab investments.
