Prince Miteb bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MOMRA), signed two contracts for the comprehensive planning of Makkah, Madina and the Islamic holy sites. The first contract was signed with Director General and representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Riyadh to provide the Development Commission for Makkah, Madina and the Holy Sites with 14 experts in urban planning, housing, architecture, transport, environment, strategic and urban planning, to help the Commission in directing the International consultant selected to draft the comprehensive plan, supervise, approve and assess its works. The second contract was signed with the Canadian Consultancy company (MMM), the Japanese company associated with it: Maryama Tishima Architecture Company and the USA transportation corporation McCormick Rankin to devise the comprehensive planning for Makkah, Madina and the Holy Sites. Prince Miteb urged the company CEO and representatives of the two consolidated company's representatives to observe the increasing numbers of comers for visit, pilgrimage and Omra that would reach 10 millions. He thanked King Abdullah and the Crown Prince for their efforts and contributions to the convenience of pilgrims and Omra visitors.
