William Facey, a writer and publisher whose work about the history and culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has appeared in company publications including Saudi Aramco World, recently won one of two annual Al-Rawabi Holding Awards given by the Saudi British Society for making a significant contribution to Saudi-British relations. Facey was also one of the three main authors of 'A Land Transformed', 'The Arabian Peninsula', 'Saudi Arabia and Saudi Aramco', published by the company in 2006, according to a latest report carried by Saudi Aramco's web-site. He said his interest in the region was sparked in the mid-1970s, when he worked with the other 2009 Al-Rawabi award winner, Michael Rice, on museum-development projects in Saudi Arabia.
