Georgia's prime minister said he has resigned for health reasons after only a few months on the job as President Mikhail Saakashvili's second-in-command, The Associated Press reported. Grigol Mgaloblishvili said that health problems and medical treatment have made it difficult for him to give the job his full effort as Georgia struggles to recover from its August war with Russia and faces the global financial crisis. The premier added today he had tendered his resignation to Saakashvili after learning from doctors that he faces two more months of intensive treatment. He did not give details about his condition.
