Egypt's foreign ministry says the country will host an international conference on rebuilding Gaza in March. It gave no specific date, Associated Press reported. Friday's announcement reflects a slight postponement, since Egyptian Foreign Minister Aboul Gheit on Tuesday said the conference would take place in Cairo in the last week of February. The ministry says the conference will be «organized in coordination» with the Palestinian Authority, which is led by President Mahmoud Abbas and his Fatah movement. The meeting will focus on reconstructing Gaza after Israel's 22-day offensive and on ways of sending aid into the area.
