Quds. The Rabat Declaration believes that achieving the development and progress in the OIC's member states confirms the need for acquiring the new technologies of information and media. It also stressed the need to use the media in fighting all forms of intolerance, racism and hatred, given the role of media in promoting the democratic building of societies and the values of citizenship, spreading out the culture of human rights and the promotion of mechanisms of good governance, upholding the behavior of transparency and accountability. The participants also confirmed the role of the Islamic media in the firm and effective confrontation against the propaganda campaigns seeking to harm the Islamic sanctities, spreading out hatred and discrimination against Muslims, confusing between Islam as a religion of peace and compassion, and the phenomenon of violence and terrorism. --More
