The Islamic information ministers began here today their eighth session. The Saudi delegation to the two-day meeting is led by minister of culture and information Iyad bin Ameen Madani. At the inaugural session, a message from Moroccan King Mohammed VI was read. The participants of the meeting are scheduled to review a number of topics pertaining to media work notably means for coordinating the joint media work among the member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). The Palestinian problem and the situation in Gaza will be among the topics which will be discussed by the meeting. The meeting will also discuss issues pertaining to the International Islamic News Agency (IINA) , Islamic States Broadcasting Union (ISBU) and other related issues. in addition to the Islamic information ministers, the OIC's secretary general, representatives of a number Islamic organizations in addition to experts in the media sphere are participating in the meeting which coincides with the 40th anniversary for the establishment of OIC.
