Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has renewed China's resolve to work with the United States to strengthen bilateral ties during a telephone call to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the official Xinhua News Agency said. During Friday's call, Yang also extended China's congratulations to the newly inaugurated President Barack Obama and his administration, Xinhua said. The exchange came during the 30th anniversary of official relations between the two sides. «China-U.S. relations are one of the most important bilateral relations in the world,» Xinhua cited Yang as saying. «China is willing to work with the United States to constantly view and handle bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.» Yang said Beijing hopes to keep strengthening dialogue and maintaining high-level contacts.
