Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Asheikh, the Minister of Justice, currently visiting Sudan, met here today with his Sudanese counterpart Abdul-Basit Sabdirat in the presence of a number of senior officials in addition to Saudi Ambassador to Sudan Mohammed Abbas Al Kilabi. Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh told reporters after the meeting that he had discussed with his Sudanese counterpart the bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the judicial domain. He added that the Sudanese judiciary enjoys a good reputation and hoped that such visits would help to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the Saudi and Sudanese justice ministries. On the movements of the international criminal court against the President of Sudan, he said that the Kingdom's stand coincides with the stand of the Arab League as regards support of Sudan. Meanwhile, Dr. Al Ashiekh met with the Sudanese Chief Justice Jalal Eddin Mohamed Osman at the Sudanese judiciary Headquarters in the presence of the Sudanese Minister of Justice and a number of judges of the Supreme Court. In press statements after the meeting, the Chief Justice said the meeting had discussed coordination between the Saudi and the Sudanese judiciary at all levels and especially in the field of Islamic law as the two countries apply the Islamic law.
