British investor David Montgomery has sold a German newspaper group that includes top-selling dailies in Berlin and Hamburg, DPA quoted sources of his company, Mecom, as saying Tuesday. A statement said the Berliner Verlag had been sold to German publisher M DuMont Schauberg for 152 million euros (200 million dollars). Montgomery's group purchased the Berlin Verlag three years ago. It includes the newspapers Berliner Zeitung, Berliner Kurier and the Hamburger Morgenpost. Mecom is expected to use the revenues of the sale to reduce its debt.
