The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session held in Al-Yamamah Palace here today. At the beginning of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the overall communications and consultations he held during the last few days with a number of world leaders on the situation in Gaza Strip, the continued Israeli aggressions and violations against the Palestinian people, and the humanitarian situation in Gaza Strip which needs a decisive international intervention to put an end to this disaster and compel Israel to respond to the latest Security Council resolution regarding the cease-fire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Strip. In a press statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani said the Cabinet stressed that the Kingdom is standing at all levels with the Palestinian brothers in defending their existence and claim for their rights. The Cabinet also stressed that the war of genocide waged by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza deprives Israeli leaders of their humanity and place their policies on a bar with racist genocide policies. The Cabinet expressed optimism regarding the statement of U.S. President-elect Barack Obama in which he said that he was affected by the humanitarian tragedy taking place in Gaza, expressing his intention to immediately and methodically search for a just settlement to the Palestinian issue. The Cabinet hoped that the next U.S. administration will be more serious, objective and independent when addressing the Palestinian issue. --More
