He says ship's propellor hit rocks and caused a leak. The ship stopped about 8 meters (25 feet) from its berth. Firefighters used ladders as bridges to bring passengers to land. Norwegian news photographs showed passengers of all ages crawling along the ladders with the help of rescuers.
