Russian natural gas supplies to Bulgaria started falling on Saturday as a result of the Ukraine-Russia gas row but had not dropped to a critical level yet, reuters quoted Bulgaria' state gas monopoly Bulgargaz as saying. "The pipeline pressure has dropped and we are getting smaller deliveries as of Saturday morning," Bulgargaz's chief executive Dimitar Gogov told Reuters. He declined to say how much exports from Russia, which covers more than 90 percent of the Balkan country's annual gas needs, had dropped but added that transit via Bulgaria to Turkey, Greece and Macedonia had also been affected. "Supplies have not fallen below a critical level and Bulgarian consumers have not been affected so far," Gogov said. "But if we start receiving less than 6.0-6.5 million cubic metres of gas a day we won't be able to cover the shortage and restrictions would apply." Bulgaria's current daily gas consumption is around 10-11 million cubic metres, he said.
