The paper praised the directives of King Abdullah to collect donations for the Palestinians. on its part, Jeddah-based al-Bilad criticized the stand of the US vis-à-vis the tragedy of Gaza, and said despite the fact that it is the only power which is capable of putting an end to the criminal acts of Israel, unfortunately its has not taken a serious action to end the Israeli criminal acts under the pretext that Hamas been shelling the Israeli settlements. The daily noted that the big powers have aborted the Libyan draft resolution which calls for ending the aggression and the Israeli foreign minister has turned down the efforts of France to appease the situation. It is high time for the international conscience notably the US to end the crimes being committed by Israel in Gaza, the daily added. --more
