Iran and Bahrain agreed today to extend the security agreement and to continue security cooperation between the two countries. The Iranian news agency "IRNA" reported that the agreement signed by Iranian foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki and his Bahraini Counterpart Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmad al-Khalifa stipulates cooperation in fighting drugs, organized crimes and terrorism in addition to formation of security cooperation joint committees. Mottaki said the extension of the agreement after five years of its signing, clearly reflects the existing good relations between Iran and the Arab countries. On his part, the Bahraini foreign minister hoped that the two countries would be capable of forming a joint security committee.
