The Saudi Qatari Coordination Council held here today its first meeting ever and signs six agreements under the co-chairmanship of the leader of the Saudi side in the meeting Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, and Qatar's Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, leader of his country's side in the meeting. In the name of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and on behalf of the Saudi side, Prince Naif welcomed, at the outset of the meeting, the participation of Sheikh Tamim and the accompanying officials delegation. Prince Naif referred to the meeting which took place between the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, last Ramadan and to the visit by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, to Doha in the first quarter of this Hijra year as having a great impact in ushering a new era of the bilateral relations between the two countries. Prince Naif considered the formation of the Saudi Qatari Coordination Council as yet another proof of the keenness of the leaderships of the two countries to further consolidate the bilateral ties binding their countries. The Saudi Interior Minister expressed belief that this move would bestow the relations between the two countries with firm and strong bricks, today patronized by King Abdullah and his crown prince as well as Sheikh Hamad and his Heir Apparent. --More
