Official figures indicated that trade exchange volume between Yemen and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States increased in 2007 to almost $ 3.7 billion, up from almost $ 2.5 billion in 2006, Saba reported. Yemen's imports from the GCC States increased from YR 418 billion in 2006 to YR 626 billion in 2007, or at 36 percent of Yemen's total imports. Yemeni exports to GCC States increased from YR 133 billion in 2006 to YR 150 billion only in 2007, or at 12 percent of Yemeni total experts to foreign countries.
