The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdulrahman Hamad Al-Atiyyah has signed a comprehensive free trade agreement with Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. In a statement today, Al-Atiyyah said that this agreement is a quantum leap in economic and trade relations between the GCC and Singapore. "The agreement reflects the desire of GCC member states to develop relations with Singapore", Al-Atiyyah added. Al-Atiyyah called on Singaporean and GCC private sectors to take advantage of this agreement, particularly in the fields of financial services, insurance and exchange of goods and investments.
