More than 40 people were injured Saturday when two bottles of hydrochloric acid were thrown from a high-rise building into a crowded shopping area in Hong Kong, according to dpa. Screaming pedestrians were rushed to hospitals with burns and blisters to their faces, arms and legs after the attack in the city's Mongkok district on Saturday afternoon. Emergency workers struggled to reach victims of the attack in the chaos that followed the attack at around 5 pm Saturday and police later sealed off the area. A government spokesman said all the injured pedestrians were treated in hospital and later discharged. Police conducted door to door interviews in attempts to trace the attackers.
