Dr. Jubarah bin Eid Al-Suraiseri, Saudi Minister of Transport, said that the meeting of the 9th session of the Saudi Turkish Joint Economic Committee, concluded in the Turkish capital of Ankara earlier today, was characterized by the two sides' determination to further promote bilateral economic relations and benefit from the capabilities available in the two countries. In a press statement, the minister said the protocol approved by the meeting reflects the strong desire to review the size of economic and trade exchanges between the two countries. He suggested that despite an increase in the trade size between the two sides, it was still below aspirations of the leaderships in the two countries and never reflects the potentials available in them. On the other hand, Saudi ambassador to Turkey Mohammed bin Raja Al-Hosseini said the relations between the Kingdom and Turkey in the aftermath of the two state visits by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 2006 and 2007 witnessed considerable upward graph variations, not only between Turkey and Saudi Arabia but also between Turkey and the Arab world. Al-Hosseini expected a remarkable increase in the size of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Turkey in the years to come.
