At least 25 people were killed in shootings and explosions late Wednesday in Mumbai, India's financial hub, news reports said, according to DPA. Police confirmed there had been several attacks by heavily armed gunmen. The Oberoi, Taj and Trident hotels in upmarket Colaba region were among areas affected, as were cinema halls, a hospital, and Mumbai's main railway terminus. Mumbai's rail network was the target of serial bombings by terrorists in July, 2006. At least 200 people were killed and more than 700 injured in those incidents.
