Bangladesh said on Sunday it had delayed by 11 days until Dec. 29 a parliamentary election which is expected to return the country to democracy after two years of emergency rule by an interim government, Reuters reported. Chief Election Commissioner A.T.M. Shamsul Huda said the new date was set after talks with the two main parties, the Awami League and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led by former prime ministers Sheikh Hasina and Begum Khaleda Zia.
