Bissau, November 23, SPA -- Armed men have attacked the residence of Guinea-Bissau's president and engaged in a three-hour gunbattle with security forces. There is no information on where President Joao Bernardo «Nino» Vieira was and whether he has been hurt. The government has not yet made a statement. Dozens of security forces have surrounded the president's home in the West African country's capital of Bissau. An Associated Press reporter heard heavy artillery and RPG rockets being fired during the gunbattle in the early hours of Sunday.
