In line with the Royal directives and in response to the humanitarian crisis experienced by the inhabitants of Gaza Strip, Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior and General Supervisor of the Saudi Committee for the Relief of the Palestinian People, has issued his directives to resume distribution of the second installment of food baskets. The Committee has started the process of distributing food baskets at acost of $3 Million. They include various food materials required by the people in Gaza Strip. Dr Musa'd Al-Orabi Al-Harethi, the advisor to the Interior Minister and head of the Saudi Committee for the Relief of Palestinian People ,said this project comes within the framework of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people. According to Dr. Al-Harethy, the program is a part of programs implemented in Gaza Strip which were financed by the Saudi Committee for the Relief of Palestinian People in line with an agreement signed recently with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees "UNRWA" . The agreement includes in addition to the baskets of food, providing medicines and medical supplies at a total cost of Twenty-two million and five hundred thousand riyals.
