On behalf of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, today opened the 19th national conference for computer, organized by the Saudi Computer Association (SCA) under the theme "Digital Economy and Information Technology Industry". At a speech ceremony, Prince Dr. Majed bin Abdullah bin Mashari Al Saud thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for accepting SCA's honorary presidency. Addressing the gathering, the Director of King Saud University gave an account on the outcome of the first and second conferences, citing the appropriation of SR12 billion for the university's development projects including scientific and research chairs. He said the number of research chairs amounted to 69 worth SR350 million, most important of which is Prince Naif Chair for Intellectual Security studies aiming at enhancing comprehensive security concept. For his part, Prince Naif said such scientific gatherings reflect the current scientific renaissance orchestrating all parts of the country under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince. The event was attended by princes, ministers, Ulema and university professors and students.
