The Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) is one of the most important institutions in the development of the industrial sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, Mohammed Al-Dubeib, the Director General of the Fund, has highlighted its role and said it has benefited from the foreign expertise and has been implementing a well-studied plan for the recruitment of the national cadres to occupy the Fund's key posts. He lauded the Fund's effective role in the development of the Saudi human resources in addition to its role in the development of the industrial sector. "In view of lack of enough cadres at the time of the establishment of the Fund in 1374 AH, it started to recruit the national cadres and send them on scholarships. In 1402 AH, the number of Saudis who were on scholarships amounted to 23, while the number of the Saudi employees in 1394 AH was only two." In the past 30 years, Al-Dubeib said the Fund recruited qualified national cadres, and that it has become one of the pioneering institutions in the field of recruitment and training of the national cadres. The number of Saudis working at the Fund rose from only two in 1374 AH to 398 by the end of the fiscal year 1424-1425 AH, he said.
