Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, General President of Meteorology and Environmental Protection stressed at the opening session of the 3rd Islamic Conference of Environment Ministers held here today at the headquarters of Islamic Scientific, Educational and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) that the conference comes at an important time for all of Islamic countries and a reflection of the achievements accomplished in the first and second conferences in Jeddah, noting that these achievements give satisfaction and confidence in the future joint work and the establishment of rules among member states in this field. The Prince said that Saudi Arabia will continue to support these conferences and promote the efforts of ISESCO in the establishment of structures that were adopted at the previous session as mechanisms in the implementation of decisions taken, urging officials in charge of environment in Muslim countries to work to promote the implementation of the recommendations for the benefit of their peoples. In conclusion, he said the subjects to be discussed at this conference and its results will contribute to enhancing the achievements of the conference and will give a strong impetus to cooperation between the member states and ISESCO particularly the topics of renewable energy and water resources that have become a major concern for many countries.
