Yemen is set to take part in the Sixth International Ministerial Conference on Avian and Pandemic Influenza that would be held on 25-26th October, 2008 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, Saba reported. Upon departure, minister of Agriculture and Irrigation Mansour Al-Howshabi said the Conference will discuss ways to prevent this disease, particularly in Arab and African countries as well as early diagnosis of the disease and strengthening international preparations for restricting its effects. He added that the conference will also highlight needs and requirements in developing countries because they are more vulnerable to the pandemic. The conference would be organized by Egypt in collaboration with the EU and a number of international organizations. About 500 participants from 116 countries and regional and international organizations are expected to take part in the event.
