Prince Khalid al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah region, received here yesterday al-Daffa golden prize in recognition of his role in the development of tourism industry at the local and regional arenas. Speaking on the occasion chairman of the Arab tourism organization Dr Bandar al-Fiheid said Prince Khalid has been awarded the prize in recognition of his distinguished efforts for the development of tourism industry. He noted that Saudi Arabia has become one of the important countries at the Arab and international arenas in the field of tourism industry. The prize's honorary president and advisor of the Jordanian King Akl al-Beltaji said the Rome-based prize was established in 1974. The prize's regional venue in the Middle East is Jordan and its honorary president is King Abdullah II of Jordan. --more
