France's president wants a financial crisis summit shortly with Italy, Germany and Britain on how to reform the financial system. French government spokesman Luc Chatel says the current crisis shows the financial system is «running out of steam.» He says President Nicolas Sarkozy is seeking a summit with other European members of the G8 on the topic. Chatel says Sarkozy is also talking to other European leaders. Chatel says the head of the European Central Bank and top European financial official Jean-Claude Juncker could also take part. Juncker says the meeting could held Saturday in Paris, according to a report of the Associated Press.
