Kuwait rose to number five among China's top oil suppliers in August as its exports surged 35.6 percent from a year earlier to 804,600 tons, equivalent to around 190,000 barrels per day (BPD), KUNA quoted Chinese government data as showing. Kuwait provided 5.1 percent of China's total crude oil imports, compared with 4.0 percent in July, according to the figures released by the Chinese General Administration of Customs. China's overall imports of crude oil rose 11.54 percent year-on-year to 15.65 million tons (3.70 million bpd) in August. Angola remained China's top supplier. Its shipments reached 3.13 million tons (740,000 bpd), followed by Saudi Arabia with 2.26 million tons (534,000 bpd). Iran ranked third with 1.87 million tons (442,000 bpd). --MORE
