Japan's newly installed prime minister says he'll push for an extension of the country's anti-terror mission in the Indian Ocean. Taro Aso said Wednesday the mission was needed not only for Japan's sake, but to protect the world from terrorism. The mission was continued this year over an opposition veto, the Associated Press reported. Japanese ships refuel ships patrolling the Indian Ocean. The mission began in 2001 and has been extended repeatedly, though it was scaled down earlier this year.
