Egypt reopened on Saturday the Rafah Crossing along its borders with Gaza Strip, allowing hundreds of Palestinians the chance to travel. Palestinian government sources told reporters that this move on the part of Egypt came to allow Gaza residents wishing to travel to Makkah for Umrah (minor pilgrimage) the chance to do so. The sources added that Palestinians studying in different countries would now be able to travel through as well. Meanwhile, witnesses told KUNA that two buses carrying patients and pilgrims left Gaza Strip this morning and headed to Egypt.
