President George W. Bush will meet visiting Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on September 25, the White House confirmed on Friday. Bush “looks forward to discussing with President Abbas the progress made toward building Palestinian institutions and toward realizing the vision of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side-by-side in peace and security,” the White House said in a statement. Abbas' visit to Washington, which was announced previously by Palestinian officials, will follow his attending the opening session of the U.N. General Assembly.
